Our Story

Born in New Zealand, baking is in my blood. From Afghans, to melting moments to even a simple butter shortbread, my memories of childhood are filled with moments in the kitchen. At home, my grandmother and mother always baked, teaching me from a young age that homemade cookies and cakes always tasted better than the ones from the shop. I don’t think I have ever bought a packet of biscuits.

This is a relatively odd tradition that I have continued when I started my own family. Three girls meant three packed lunches for about 10 years. Instead of buying treats, I made them. Within my girls first few years of school, they would come home and say ‘Mum, all my friends want your ANZAC cookies, can you make some for everyone?’. Of course, my answer was yes. Now adults, my daughter’s friends still ask for my Afgans or ANZACs! So I thought I could be onto something here and began ‘Fill the Cookie Jar’. As a small business, grown out of my family home, where all the baking takes place.

We are all about real people, real (and full fat) ingredients, made with love.
